Ich habe auf Anhieb haufenweise solcher Zusammenfassungen gefuinden: "Another political issue in 19th century Greece was uniquely Greek: the language question. The Greek people spoke a simple form of Greek called (The modern Greek vernacular) Demotic. Many of the educated elite saw this as a peasant dialect and were determined to restore the glories of (The Greek language prior to the Roman Empire) Ancient Greek. Liberals favoured recognising Demotic as the national language, but conservatives, the University and the Orthodox Church resisted all such efforts.
